How does it work?
People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. Maybe you've been experiencing stress and anxiety; low self esteem; difficulties with work or in your relationships. Sometimes we become gradually aware that things aren't okay. Or it might be that we are affected by one big sudden change – a bereavement or loss, or other traumatic event.
Sometime it is difficult to talk to the people in our lives. they may be too closely involved, or even part of the problem. I can provide the safe, private place where you can take the time you need to explore what is happening in your life. My work is completely confidential within professional boundaries. I will never judge you, and together we will work through your issues.
My role is to enter into your experience as much as I can and help you to look at it more clearly.
I am happy to see individuals from 13 years and up. All genders, sexualities, and ethnicities are welcome.
What is the first step?
You contact me. We can arrange to have a chat by phone to book an initial session.
The initial sesssion is your opportunity to gauge if this is the right thing for you; and a chance for you to tell me more about what is happening for you and what your hopes and goals are for therapy. It is very important that you feel comfortable and that this is the right thing for you.
We will fix a regular weekly session that we will stick to. This is important as it helps you to get into a good rhythm. We can discuss if you would like a fixed number of sessions or to work in a more open-ended way.
Costs
Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost £60.
I do have a number of concession spaces that I can offer to those on low incomes, or to student counsellors.*
